When recording my recommendation is to use a low wattage tube amp. You want an amp that you can drive fairly easy at low volume. As far as playing live I like to use multiple cabinets to give a thicker fuller sound and definitely a nice low end tone. Also for recording you ideally want to use as little effects as possible in front of your signal. These are just a few tips for setting up your gear- more to come later!
